Kill The Ego

If your in NYC this week, check out Kill The Ego, an audio portrait of NYC visually interpreted as a motion-painting film by Rostarr, the man responsible for much of artwork featured on the T&S covers. This is an incredible project and is well worth the trip to the Anthology Film Archives located at  32 Second Ave. The film opens July 8th. Check the trailer.

High Fidelity - M11X

On June 20th, Mikal Hameed a.ka M11X is having his debut show at Alphabeta gallery in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Mikal Hameed will be showing his collection of large-scale sound sculptures and mixed media paintings.  Truth & Soul DJs Akalepse, El Michels, and Jeff Dynamite will be spinning all night.  Highly Recommended!!!

Oculus Velocitas

Romon Yang, a.k.a Rostarr, the man responsible for much of the art featured on Truth & Soul's releases, is having a solo show in Genoa, Italy called Oculus Velocitas.  The show opens the 7th of March at a spot called Galleria II Trifogolio Nero.  If you happen to be out there, we highly recommend checking it out. For those of you in Miami, artist  Romon Yang a.k.a Rostarr, who has designed many of the covers for T&S, will be having a retrospective gallery show on October 11th at O.H.W.O.W. / 3100 NW 7 AVENUE / MIAMI / FLORIDA .  Truth & Soul DJs El Michels and Jeff Dynamite will be spinning during the event. Mikal Hameed Gallery

The artist who designed the chair for the Verve's Remixed 4 album is a good friend of TRUTH & SOUL as well as our neighbor.  Most of his sculptures incorporate speakers, turntables, and all things stereophonic.  He also just finished the cover for Verve's Christmas record, which features a snow mobile sound system complete with Serato....King Tubby would be proud.  Visit  his blog for more information.
